KIND Good people. Real help. A stronger community.
Across Clacton, there are kind-hearted and community-minded people who would happily share their time, energy, experience or skills. The problem is that people who want to help and people who need help do not always know how to find each other.
Bringing people together
This is where KIND comes in.
KIND will bring volunteers, local organisations, businesses and residents together to improve our communities, support people who are struggling and help good local projects get off the ground.
You might be able to offer an hour every few months, a regular afternoon, professional experience, physical help, office support, equipment or access to a team of staff. Every genuine offer of help has value.
Support the project
Help us turn goodwill into action.
Larger businesses often have corporate social responsibility and community investment commitments. KIND could be a practical local project for your company to support through funding, equipment, materials, staff volunteering or professional help.
Small businesses and individuals can also support us. A one-off donation or regular monthly contribution would help us provide volunteers with the tools, materials and resources they need.
Tell us how you or your organisation may be able to contribute.
Get involved
Two simple ways to join KIND
Offer your help, or tell us where help is needed. We will bring the two sides together as our volunteer community grows.
Volunteer with us
Whether you are an individual, a small business or a large corporation, we would love to have you as part of our volunteer team.
Tell us when you may be available, what you enjoy doing and what skills, experience, equipment or resources you could offer. There is no minimum commitment.
Register as a volunteerTell us what help is needed
You might be a resident who needs help with a garden, paperwork or an everyday problem. You might be a charity, care home, council team, community group or local organisation that needs additional volunteers.
You may need help creating a charity shop, arranging a community clean-up, planning an event or starting something completely new. Complete the form and tell us what you need. Do not be shy. We want to help where we can.
Request community helpWhat KIND could support
Small acts can make a big difference.
These are only examples. We want residents and organisations to tell us what Clacton needs.
Garden rescue
Helping an elderly or disabled resident deal with an overgrown garden they can no longer manage alone.
Forms and admin
Supporting someone who is struggling with online forms, letters, applications or basic paperwork.
Community clean-ups
Bringing volunteers together to clear litter, tidy shared spaces and improve neglected areas.
Care home activities
Volunteers giving time for conversation, entertainment, gardening, games or organised social activities.
Charity shop support
Helping a charity plan, prepare, launch or staff a new community shop or fundraising project.
Business volunteers
Local companies offering staff time, professional knowledge, equipment, transport, materials or financial support.
Our funding promise
All donations received for KIND will be used to support our volunteers, community activities, equipment, materials and the practical costs of delivering local projects.
No wages will be taken by Martyn or any member of the founding team. Contributions and spending will be recorded clearly.
As the project develops, we intend to establish a dedicated Community Interest Company with a clear not-for-profit purpose. Transparent spending reports will be published on this website for everyone to see.
Community activity and volunteer stories
We will share news from the projects supported through KIND and give proper credit to the volunteers who make them happen, whether they are local residents, small companies or major corporations.
We believe it is important to recognise the people and organisations that invest their time, energy, skills and resources into our community.
There are good people all across Clacton. Let us bring them together.
Join the volunteer team, tell us where support is needed or help fund practical community action.
