Meeting The Council
On Monday 20/07/2026, all the candidates were invited to a meeting with the council and the Police at Clacton Leisure Centre. This was a chance for us all to learn more about Clacton, the challenges faced and also the rules of campaigning.
It was an interesting morning and was the first time for me to have me many of the other candidates and start forming my opinions of their reason for running.
I did not see Reforms Nigel Farage, Lawrence Fox or Count Bin Face and some other candidates chose not to come also, it would have been good to have met everyone.
My initial impression is that there are some nice people standing with good intentions.
However I was surprised by how many protest or satire runners there are, their main aim being to disrupt the by-election rather than being serious candidates.
